INTERIOR PS RAYMOND OMOLLO UNVEILS NEW GUIDELINES FOR NATIONAL ID ISSUANCE

These guidelines aim to streamline the service, ensuring predictability and efficiency, while emphasizing accountability, transparency, and security.

Interior PS Raymond Omollo, together with Immigration and Citizen Services PS Julius Bitok, has today unveiled the new guidelines for issuance of National ID cards in border and cosmopolitan counties. 

The new guidelines are a result of the government's efforts to leverage technology, security agencies like NIS and DCI, and collaborate with stakeholders to conduct thorough background checks. This move is intended to prevent ineligible individuals from accessing Kenyan legal identification documents.

PS Omollo has expressed his confidence in the new guidelines, which he believes will go a long way in making the process of obtaining a National ID card much easier, safer, and more efficient. He emphasized that the government is committed to ensuring that only eligible Kenyan has access to a National ID card, which is a crucial document in accessing various government services.

PS Omollo has also acknowledged the challenges that Kenyans face in accessing these services, especially in border and cosmopolitan counties. He expressed his hope that the new guidelines will address these challenges and ensure that every eligible Kenyan has access to a National ID card.
