Irrigation Master Plan set to Take Shape Under the Leadership of PS Ephantus Kimotho

The State Department of Irrigation led by CPA Ephantus Kimotho is making significant strides in advancing irrigated agriculture with the development of an irrigation master plan in collaboration with the International Centre for Research in Agroforestry (ICRAF). Through this master plan, the state department aims to enhance agroforestry in irrigated farms.

Following a meeting with Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, the Board of Trustees of the Center for International Forestry Research (CIFOR) and representatives from International Centre for Research in Agroforestry (ICRAF), PS Kimotho announced plans to visit farmers who have benefited from ICRAF interventions, emphasizing the practical impact of the collaboration.

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua on his part, expressed the government's commitment to addressing the adverse effects of climate change by intensifying collaboration with local and international partners. This consolidated approach aims to implement medium-term and long-term measures for response and mitigation interventions.

The irrigation master plan, as spearheaded by PS Ephantus Kimotho, signifies a proactive step towards sustainable irrigated agriculture and environmental resilience and demonstrates the government's dedication to agricultural development and climate change adaptation.
