Vision 2030: PS Kimotho Leads MTP IV Dissemination Forum in Kajiado County

On Monday, Kajiado County was illuminated with the promise of progress and development as the Kenya Vision 2030, Medium Term Plan IV 2023-2027 dissemination forum took place at Maasai Mara Technical Institute.

The forum, graced by the presence of State Department of Irrigation Principal Secretary Ephantus Kimotho, Cabinet Secretary for Environment, Climate Change, and Forestry Hon. Soipan Tuya, and Kajiado County Governor H.E Joseph Olelenku, was a milestone in accelerating social-economic transformation for a more competitive, inclusive, and resilient economy.

The dissemination forum aimed to sensitize the public about the government's plans and the progress made in implementing Kenya Vision 2030. PS Kimotho highlighted the importance of engaging citizens through a collaborative approach, giving them a voice in decision-making processes, in line with the whole of government and whole of society approach.

One of the notable aspects of the Medium Term Plan IV is the identification of priority value chains, including Leather and leather products, Textile and Apparel, Dairy, Edible oils, Tea, Rice, Blue Economy, Minerals, Forestry, and Construction/Building Materials.

PS Ephantus Kimotho outlined specific priorities for the State Department of Irrigation in Kajiado County, such as the construction of water pans and boreholes, along with the adoption of a Diaspora Forest in Ngong to plant trees, where 10 acres have already been acquired.

These initiatives reflect a concerted effort to enhance water resource management and environmental sustainability, crucial for the county's development.

As the dissemination forum concluded, the vision for Kajiado County's transformation was clearly articulated. The event served as a springboard for collaboration between government entities, local leadership, and the community, paving the way for a brighter, more prosperous future for Kajiado County in line with Kenya's Vision 2030.
