Irrigation PS Ephantus Kimotho Meets with ELEVO Group on Thuci Dam Construction.

In a pivotal moment for Embu County, the Principal Secretary for Irrigation, CPA Ephantus Kimotho, convened a crucial meeting on Friday with ELEVO Group Company Ltd. Led by CEO Mr. Gilberto Rodrigues, the discussion centered around the ambitious construction of the Thuci Social Dam. This landmark project, facilitated through a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) framework, promises to revolutionize irrigation and energy generation in the region.

The Thuci Dam stands as one of the 100 priority dams slated for construction under the PPP framework. Its impressive specifications include a water capacity of 23 million cubic meters, capable of irrigating a sprawling 16,000 acres of land. Beyond irrigation, the dam will harness its hydropower potential to generate electricity, contributing to the county's energy needs.

The Thuci Dam underscores the government's commitment to embracing PPP initiatives. By partnering with private investors, the project aims to create sustainable solutions for farmers. The Thuci Dam, is poised to directly benefit 2,400 farmers in the Kagaari-Kyeni-Gituri area, enhancing their livelihoods and food security.

The consultative meeting with ELEVO Group represents a significant milestone. Their Privately Initiated Proposal (PIP) for the Thuci Dam demonstrates their vision and commitment to infrastructure development. As the project gains momentum, ELEVO Group's involvement ensures expertise, innovation, and efficient execution.

The Thuci Dam project transcends mere construction—it symbolizes progress, resilience, and prosperity. By improving irrigation infrastructure and providing clean energy, it aligns with the government's broader mission to enhance agricultural productivity. As the dam takes shape, Embu County stands on the cusp of transformation, where water meets opportunity.

The Thuci Dam embodies hope—a reservoir that will quench both the land and the aspirations of its people. With Principal Secretary Kimotho's leadership and ELEVO Group's partnership, Embu County is poised for a brighter, more sustainable future.
