  Leaders from across Africa have called for increased concessional funding from the International Development Association (IDA), a branch of the World Bank, during the recently concluded IDA21 Replenishment Summit in Nairobi. The state department of irrigation has identified 464 locations that have the potential for constructing water harvesting and storage structures for further development.  This is due to the continuous rainfall and flooding, which has resulted in the need to store excess water. These structures can harvest a massive 37,226,762 cubic meters of water, and according to Irrigation PS Ephantus Kimotho, this capacity is capable of irrigating over 42,709 acres of land and can also provide sufficient water for domestic and livestock purposes.
